The 2-Eleven is an Exige S with everything removed that does not make it faster. There is no windscreen, no roof and no doors, only a low wind deflector and a full roll structure. The supercharged engine makes 252 bhp in a car weighing as little as 670 kg in track trim.

It could be registered for the road in the UK and some other markets under low-volume approval. A naturally aspirated version and GT4 race cars were also built.

On a road trip

You will need a helmet or at least good goggles, and a waterproof bag. Road-registered cars do tour the Alps, usually as part of a track day trip to the Nürburgring or Spa. It is a brilliant car on a circuit and a memorable one on a pass.

What to check

  • Whether the car is road-registered, and whether that registration is valid where you live.
  • Track use is a given: look for a documented maintenance schedule.
  • Accident history and chassis condition.
